I have been using CitiBank credit card for more than a year. Like any other credit card it was offered to me free for the first year.
Two months back I received a letter from them stating that my scheme has been discontinued and they will issue a new credit card which will be FREE life long.
Before I could receive my new credit card I got an account statement in which they charged me Rs. 561 as renewal charges. I called up their call centre to inform them about this. The call centre executive assured me that this error will be rectified within 4 working days. I have been waiting patiently for 3 weeks but still there is no response from them.
I called them up again and they assured me that the error will be rectified within 4 working days. A week has passed by but there has been no response from them. I just called them up before writing this blog post and I was informed that this credit card will be made free for life after I pay the renewal charges. I have refused to pay the same and requested them to cancel my credit card.
Now I understand why our HR Manager does not like the services rendered by them and calls them shitty bank. I advice you hence forth to beware while dealing with them.
